The doorway village to Mount Pelion and its peninsula is a fairytale dollhouses town with a view from above. No wonder why it is called God’s balcony. Indeed it feels like heaven, at 650m of altitude, incrusted on the mountain side, away from any kind of stress and the crazy world below, immersed in full tranquility
and exuberant nature. The name comes from the Monastery of
Panagia Portarea, from the XIII Century, around which the town developed.
