In Mythology, Symi is the nymph who married Poseidon, the god of the seas. Indeed, this tiny island, off the coast of Turkey, is a beauty in all its aspects. Most of its prosperity before tourism came from shipbuilding and sponge fishing, in which it has a long tradition. Symi had a prominent role in the Greek War of Independence, but was the last piece of land added back to Greece, only in 1948. History and grace, a must-visit jewel in Dodecanese.
