Cute little beach town on the road from Kalamata to Areopolis, between the deep blue Messenic seas and Mount Profitis Ilias, the highest peak of the Taygetos range. One of the oldest settlements in Mani, dating back to the Venetians,

and surrounded by astonishing nature. Mentioned in the Iliad, it was offered by Agamemnon to  Achilles as a condition for him to rejoin the Trojan War.
