The town has a small urban center on mainland, Gefyra, but its most inviting part is the rock, a massive island shape gem, where a walled city was built and resisted to several invasions and occupations over time, being restored and well-preserved for your pleasure. It is now connected to the continent by a short narrow bridge. In this sense, it can be compared to Mount Saint-Michel, in France, except for the waters around it: forget gray Normandy Atlantic, this is the Mediterranean Sea.
